Wheatgrass: A Delicious Snack For Your Guinea Pig

Guinea Pigs Eating Wheatgrass

The HappyCavies love an occasional snack of wheatgrass. It’s a very special treat and can be found at most local grocery stores.

Not only is wheatgrass a delicious, dark green snack, it’s also a healthy source of vitamins, minerals, and enzymes. Plus, it can provide other potential health benefits for your guinea pig, like:

– Promoting healthy liver function
– Eliminating bacterial growth
– Increasing red blood cell count

If your piggie has never had wheatgrass before, be sure to feed in moderation as having too much at one time can cause gut upsets.

When selecting wheatgrass from your local grocer, make sure the plant is free of mold and that it is bright green in color. To serve, give the grass a light rinse and feed from either the container or as clippings in a bowl.

Your piggie will love you for it, and soon you will find that a little bit is never enough!
