Each holiday season, guinea pigs in rescues and shelters around the world go without the love of a forever home, hoping to one day find a human companion to call their own.

The Guinea Pig Secret Santa Project works to make the holidays a little brighter for shelter guinea pigs by coordinating cavy lovers across the world to send care packages of toys, treats and supplies to guinea pigs who won’t have a forever home this holiday season.

Started by members of The Guinea Pig Forum, The Guinea Pig Secret Santa Project is an opportunity for the small animal community to give back to the rescuers of the world.

Find out how you can get involved — and see photos of the shelter guinea pigs with their holiday care packages — on The Guinea Pig Secret Santa Facebook page or on Twitter.

Winnie and Rosie joined on February 8, 2015 and June 6, 2015, respectively. Sisters JuneBug and Baby Roo joined August 16, 2019, and Dollie came to us on February 15, 2023.
