Ask HappyCavy!

Frequent visitors to HappyCavy know that we love helping other guinea pig humans with their questions. The HappyCavy guinea pigs have diligently dictated her best advice for your care and lifestyle questions for several years. But we want to make it easier for you to get the answers you need for your guinea pig questions!

Introducing a new blog column we’re calling “Ask HappyCavy“!

Send your guinea pig questions

In “Ask HappyCavy“, we will answer guinea pig related questions submitted by you! Not all questions will make it to the column, but we promise to answer every question you send us. We can even notify you when we answer your question either by Facebook, Twitter, or email!

Who better to answer your cavy questions than an ACTUAL guinea pig! Plus, the HappyCavy Humans have been caring for piggies for over 5 years and have had a lot of experience in many aspects of raising female guinea pigs, such as:

  • Guinea pig mites
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Cage design and construction
  • Diet and nutrition
  • Guinea pig safe foods
  • Bloat
  • Ear cleaning
  • Nail trimming
  • Medication treatments

  • Where to get local, high-quality pellets and hay
  • Female guinea pig behavior
  • And a lot more!
  • Ask HappyCavy not a substitute for professional advice from a qualified veterinarian. Specific medical advice and diagnosis of medical conditions can NOT be provided.

HappyCavy has been online since June 2009 with Hammy and Piglet. In October of 2009, a sweet, fuzzy cavy named Bitsy joined the family.

Feebee and Buttercup were welcomed to the HappyCavy Forever Home as friends and co-conspirators in January 2011. Dot joined us on July 2012. Winnie and Rosie joined on February 8, 2015 and June 6, 2015, respectively. Sisters JuneBug and Baby Roo joined August 16, 2019, and Dollie came to us on February 15, 2023. Annie was the last pig to arrive on December 17, 2023. Find out more about the HappyCavy guinea pigs.
